Types and shadows
God works by patterns.
When Moses built the tabernacle, God told him to make all things according to the pattern shown to him in the mount (Hebrews 8:5). The law was a shadow of good things to come (Hebrews 10:1), the stories of the Bible were written as examples for us (1 Corinthians 10:11), and the prophets spoke in patterns that Jesus opened, showing how all the Scriptures spoke of Him (Luke 24:27).
